The City of Milbank High School (Go Bulldogs) is the recipient of any money raised for this event. What makes this event different from many others is that it is highly probable you may not know anyone who lives in the town of Milbank or attends the high school, but that is the point.
This event is about asking everyone to take a moment in their life to do something to benefit other Americans without getting anything in return. My contribution to this effort is to publicize my bucket list quest (a motorcycle ride from Reno, Nevada to Milbank, South Dakota) to generate interest and to focus attention on the City of Milbank High School. My contribution to this effort is to publicize my bucket list quest (a motorcycle ride from Reno, Nevada to Milbank, South Dakota) to generate interest and to focus attention on the City of Milbank High School. Your participation in this event is to:
- Sign up for e-mail notifications to the left of this post.
- Spread the word, share the URL (http://noroadsleadtomilbank.blogspot.com) of this blog.
- Donate money to the cause.
- Join me on a brief segment of the ride (details to be posted soon).
Where this effort differs from most is that there are no
shirts, hats, medallions, ribbons, or any other memorabilia to encourage you to
donate. I would love to send you a token to hang on your wall for donations of
$250.00 or perhaps a coin for donations of $25.00, but this is not that kind of
fund raiser. This is about giving because you can and want to and do not want
any recognition.
If you can give a little, please do. If you can give more,
please do. If you can’t give anything, spread the word, share the blog address
(http://noroadsleadtomilbank.blogspot.com)
with 10 of your friends. If you have a motorcycle (or perhaps know someone who
does) and you live in one of the cities or towns from which I will be departing,
join me on a short segment of the ride to show your support. Maybe you are a
reporter on radio or TV and can get in contact with us using the information
below to promote the effort. The point here is there is a selfless act for
everyone to contribute.
I look forward to meeting a lot of different people on my
travels to the city of Milbank and am super excited to visit the only city in
America that shares my namesake, but I really hope I have provided the
opportunity for Milbank High School to realize its future.
Please use the button below or to the left of this post to donate.
Selfless (adj): "devoted
to others' welfare or interest and not one's own"
Please join me and experience my
quest for 10 days, Starting June 6th and ending June 16th.
I will do my best to keep things interesting in this blog and allow this amateur
to give you a little peak of American’s desire to give and be
selfless.
